Sometimes fate puts you in the right place at the right time and that is what happened the first time I met with Dr. Gordon-Cohen.

A routine gynecological exam is what initially brought me to Dr. Gordon-Cohen's office but just through conversing with me, she realized I wasn't well, I had thought I had a flu bug that just wouldn't go away; it had been with me for so long, it had become a part of how I dealt with my life. My whole day had become a series of questions- "Will I be able to take a shower and have enough energy to finish rinsing the shampoo out of my hair ?", "If I make it to the car, will I be able to make It to the bank and then will I be able to stand on line long enough to take care of my transaction ?

Not only was I weak but I was unable to concentrate. At one point I was working with a director on a script for a video and I was unable to take his suggestions and make corrections in the script. I new he was talking to me but I couldn't make sense out of it nor could I take the information and make the I necessary changes in the computer. I thought I was, quite literally, losing my mind.

Because of her perceptiveness and superior ability as a diagnostician, we found that I had Epstein-Barr and a sluggish thyroid which had all but ceased functioning and Candidiasis. This combination had me down for the count and I have no idea what I would be like now if I hadn't stepped into Dr. Gordon-Cohen's office.

Through diet vitamins and a few other therapies, I now have more energy than I had twenty years ago and I am able to live my life to the fullest, Everything I do every minute of every day is a sort of prayer of thanks-I take nothing for granted and I am grateful for all I am able to do.

I owe this new chance at life to Dr. Barbara Gordon-Cohen and for that I am eternally grateful.

Before my first appointment with Dr. Gordon-Cohen I had been to 6 other doctors - an internist , 3 orthopedic specialists, and 2 chiropractors. Various diagnoses I was given included tendinitis, bursitis, capsulitis, and muscle strain/sprain. Treatments ranged from painful but useless (cortisone shots) , to slightly helpful but with horrendous side effects (anti -inflammatory drugs which resulted in stomach pain and gastrointestinal bleeding).

During the course of the 4 years while I tried these 'cures' the pain in my hips and legs not only continued, but began to spread and increase. Most nights the pain was such that I was unable to sleep.

After reading about Dr. Gordon-Cohen's practice I decided to try one last physician, Amazingly, she not only gave me the diagnosis of fibromyalgia (which I feel is the first correct one), but through her treatments and supplements - none of which caused ANY side effects or pain - I now have about 80% less pain.

These is an interesting addendum to this story: about 7 months ago my endometriosis had progressed to the stage where I was virtually incapacitated by pain. My gynecologist confirmed that there was a large cyst on my remaining ovary and recommended a complete hysterectomy, followed by estrogen treatment. Desperate to avoid this procedure, I once more turned to Dr. Gordon-Cohen, who again treated me with manipulations and various supplements. While I still suffer from occasional discomfort, at my last visit my gynecologist confirmed that the cyst was gone and made no mention of my needing a hysterectomy.

After bouncing around and trying to find a doctor who listened and cared. I wound up on Dr. Gordon Cohen's door step. My first experience was a routine physical, which proved informative and beneficial.
My Second visit was an emergency visit for a wrenched back. In one visit, I was able to return to work the next day, and resume my work art schedule in one week.

My most recent success was calf muscle that was painful, and kept me from exercising. Dr. Gordon-Cohen took me on a moment's notice on the eve of a holiday. Without drugs, I returned to my exercise gym in 5 days.

I came to Dr. Cohen after having several months of ear infections and congestion. I had been seeing an Ear, Nose and throat Doctor for about two months and taking antibiotics for most of it. They wanted to put tubes in my ears. Dr. Cohen began cranial on me and my hearing cleared up within about 6 weeks. I quit having pain and popping in my ears almost immediately.

Dr. Cohen also gave me a vitamin regimen which helped with migraines. The vitamins also helped with my general health..
